Project in the Community
Schools Program
Schools program has been running since 2019 and now in 2023 we support 34 kids in education and unfortunately we have to turn away many more due to financial restrictions.
In Haiti school is not free and costs around $100 per year to attend school plus uniform cost and fees to sit exams.
In the picture here we see families bringing the kids to register with us for the following years school term.
Vocational Training
Where possible we enroll older kids on training courses and also they can work along side trades men during any building work we may be undertaking for the Scottish Haitian Foundation
House build
We purchased the house of Esther and her Granny from their landlord as it was falling down and not fit to live in.
We rented them new accommodation and we set to work demolishing the old shack and starting form the ground up to build them a new house.
Some of our older boys are helping out and will gain some practical experience during this project.
Monthly Food Support
We Support four families with monthly food which mean they can rely on having just enough to feed them and their children.
This food is often shared round extended family and neighbors who are in need.
Let there be light
There is very little lighting in rural Haiti so we set out to instal street lights when finances allowed.
The solar street light improves the lives of the whole community.
The word of God.
We were happy to be able to bless 12 families in the community with the gift of a Creole Bible.
Goats
We were delighted to help Makerson by buying three goats to breed and produce for market, this provides income for his family and allowed him to improve their living conditions.
